Following Dharma King
Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok
Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok is Padmasambhava’ nirmanakaya and is our root guru, so it is very important to remember to follow Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok’s teaching. It is also mentioned in many guidance texts such as [The Teachings of Master Samantabhadra] that the merits of remembering the virtues of Guru in an instant exceed the merits of visualizing one hundred thousand deities. The merits of reciting the mantras of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas a hundred thousand times are great, but the merits of praying to the Guru once is greater. This is clearly stated in the Tantra.
The Guru himself is indistinguishable from the Buddha, with equal merits, compassion, wisdom, and abilities. However, in terms of kindness, the Guru's kindness to us exceeds that of the Buddha. Buddhas in past lives have liberated countless sentient beings with predestined relationships. However, due to many karmas and obstacles, we have not seen their golden bodies in person, and continue to rotate in reincarnation, birth, old age, illness and death. Now, our Guru, the incarnation of the Buddha, has reincarnated with great mercy and will lead us out of the sea of suffering. In this way, the kindness is superior to that of the Buddha.
Whether it is Padmasambhava, Shakyamuni Buddha or other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, they are indistinguishable from Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok. Everyone practices the Guru Yoga of Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok at a fixed time, and the blessing from him is very powerful. For the Guru Yoga in the morning class "Opening the Path to Liberation", you can visualize the image as Guru Padmasambhava and the entity as the Root Guru, Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok. Practicing in this way will bring great blessing and help to your cultivation.
Disciples who focus on practical cultivation should finish reciting the prayers of the lineage Guru when practicing the Dharma, and then practice according to the yoga rituals of Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok. Carefully think about the principles of the rituals, and recite Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok’s Prayer and Mind Mantra attentively. We can achieve enlightenment only with the blessing of Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok. If we do not meet the necessary requirement for practicing the Dharma which is praying for the Guru, just saying Dzogchen in our mouths, and not practicing Guru Yoga, it will not work. Books about Dzogchen are everywhere. You can read them even without anyone teaching you, but you will not get the blessings from your Guru. So there is no way to achieve enlightenment!
Where did the secret of Dzogchen come from?
The eminent monks of the past went to India to ask for the Dharma. They offered gold, silver and other very precious jewels in front of their masters. Do the masters need the gold, silver and jewelry from people? No, these great masters can draw cows to get milk and turn stones into gold. In their eyes, cow dung is the same as gold, and the dye and purity is also the same!
Such special Dharma essentials, if there is no price to pay for it, those who seek Dharma will not know how to cherish. This will cause people without confidence and respect to read the Dharma casually, ask for the Dharma at any time, and speak the excellent secret Dharma freely. If it continues to evolve, not only the Dharma seekers will not receive the blessings, but also it will lead to the decline of the Dharma lineage.
Since Vajradhara Buddha preached the Tantric Dharma, Subsequent patriarchs have passed it on from generation to generation in the form of three lineages. Therefore, we must also practice the Dzogchen Dharma according to such rules, and we must not read it and practice it in our own way. Especially confidence, confidence in the Guru and the Dzogchen Dharma are extremely crucial. Everyone must work hard in this regard!
The first day of The Three Venerable Pujas Dharma Assembly is to remember Root Guru Kyabje Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok, the second day is the Nirvana Dharma Assembly of the Omniscient Mipham Rinpoche, and the third day is the Nirvana Dharma Assembly of the Rainbow Body Achiever Venerable Banma Dunde. During these three days, everyone should visualize prostrating, taking refuge, making offerings, repenting, and making vows in front of all the Gurus, so that we can receive the supreme blessings from the Gurus.
I wish you all good luck and success!
Namo Amitabha Buddha!
