What Does Pain Bring Us?

Question:   What Does Pain Bring Us?

Grand Master:

Daily Gratitude

We are the disciples of Shakyamuni Buddha. We must remember the kindness of Shakyamuni Buddha. When we get up in the morning, we should bow to Shakyamuni Buddha three times and recite the Buddha's name while prostrating “Namo Buddha Shakyamuni! Namo Guru Three Treasures Three Fundamental! Namo Manzezeriah, Namo Sezeriah, Namo Sedar Manzezeriah Zoha.”

After the end of the prostration, then recite:

Sugata, Tathagata, your body,

Dependents, lifespan and pure lands,

Extraordinary and wonderful appearance and various merits,

I only wish all to succeed in the same way.

And then we'll get ready to offer water and lights. If the Buddha Hall in the house is very small, one glass of water or three cups of water can also be supplied. After the water is supplied, you can soak a large bottle of saffron for a daily supply. If the visualization is very good, the merit of providing a drop of water is also great. How do you visualize the water offering? Visualize that there are as many offerings in a glass of water as there are in the three thousand universes.

Recognizing pain

We must recognize suffering When the Buddha first turned the Dharma Wheel, the first truth was to acknowledge suffering. The heavenly beings have no suffering, so they hardly practice the Dharma. They have no plan to cultivate renunciation.

Therefore, as heavenly beings, they cannot be liberated because they have no chance to practice the Buddha Dharma at all. Therefore, when we encounter birth, aging, illness, and death, we feel the pain very vividly. First, we cultivate renunciation, and then we hear, think, and practice the Dharma step by step to cultivate ourselves.

If the suffering is not understood, there is no urgent need to understand supramundane dharma. Worldly law cannot be achieved without understanding suffering. Nowadays, many foreign parents throw their children into the water or snow when playing games to let their children experience suffering and realize suffering. If they have not suffered, they will not be able to bear the pain suddenly and may commit suicide. So, they deliberately give children some difficulties and exercise them, so that these children will be more powerful in the future, not afraid of suffering, and will not want to commit suicide when they encounter a little setback. Samsara is like a sea of suffering, in which everything is meaningless. Everyone must work hard to practice renunciation and prepare for liberation.

Convert Suffering to Liberation Path

During the cultural revolution, many practitioners and lamas in Tibet were put in prison, and at that time they just dropped everything, recited a lot of Six Character Great Ming Mantra, and practiced a lot of Dharma. After they were released, they all said that this was the help of the country and were thankful. If you do not have this experience, you will always be busy in the world, busy every day, you cannot practice the Dharma, you cannot close the door, and clinging to the Worldly Law is a great obstacle to practicing the Dharma. So many Dade said, very grateful to the country, why? Suddenly they let go of a lot of things, and a lot of meaningless things are let go. In the cell can be very pure practice, so later achievements are also very high. There are many such Gurus and therefore, even if we seem to be facing adverse conditions now, we can turn this to the path of renunciation and practice the Dharma well.
