Reading [Heart Sutra] Every Day

The [Diamond Sutra] says: "Accept, uphold, read, and recite this sutra. If you are despised by others, due to your karma from previous life, you will fall into the evil path. Because this life you are despised for, your karma from previous life will be eliminated." This means for those who have faith in the emptiness, even if they have karma that would lead them to fall into the lower realms, the slightest retribution in this life can be eliminated. Why is the Prajnaparamita method so extraordinary? Because it talks about emptiness.

Why is emptiness so supreme? First of all, we must understand how reincarnation appears. It is caused by self-attachment and ignorance. What is the reason why reincarnation is so problematic? It is the attachment to self and phenomena. If you want to get rid of self-attachment, you must understand the meaning of emptiness. Once you have the understanding that no one has a self, and then slowly get rid of the attachment to self, you will eventually be able to get rid of your afflictions gradually. Therefore, the fundamental way to stay away from reincarnation is to have an understanding of emptiness and then cure self-attachment.

For this reason, the Prajnaparamita Dharma such as the [Heart Sutra] is so special and profound that our disciples who teach the source of the Dharma must recite it every day. Many Taoist friends recite the [Diamond Sutra]. The meaning of Prajnaparamita in it is no different from that in the [Heart Sutra]. They both talk about emptiness, but the content is longer. People who often hear and think about it may not have time to recite it. The [Heart Sutra] is very short and can be recited quickly, so it should be recited once a day without interruption. Those who do not need to listen, reflect, or meditate can recite it three times, but it is better to recite it seven times. When reciting, you should hold on to [Three Supremes], that is, Supreme Motivation in the front, there is Supreme Dedication of Merits and Vow in the back, and there is Supreme Deeds which is concentration in the middle, and you should concentrate on reciting [Heart Sutra].

[Heart Sutra]

The Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva of Compassion,
When meditating deeply, perceive the emptiness of the five skandhas.

And relieved from all suffering and hardships.

Sariputra, Form is no other than emptiness,
Emptiness no other than form.
Form is only emptiness,
Emptiness is only form.
Feeling, thought, perceptions, and Consciousness are the same.

Sariputra, All the forms are empty
Nor arise or vanish
Nor blemish or pure
Nor increase and decrease

Therefore, in emptiness,
there are no forms;
No Feeling, thought, perceptions, and Consciousness;
No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind;
No colour, sound, smell, taste, touch;
No Boundary of vision, and No Awareness;
No ignorance;
Nor all that comes from ignorance;
No aging and death and no extinction of aging and death;
No suffering, cause of suffering, cessation, or path;
No wisdom and no attainment. As there is no attainment,

Bodhisattva in Prajna wisdom, Nor worry nor obstruction.
Without worry and obstruction, there is no fear.

Free from confusion and delusion, eventually reach nirvana.

All the Buddhas of the past, present, and future rely on Prajna wisdom,
reaching unexcelled complete Enlightenment;
Thus, know that the Prajnaparamita Mantra,
is the perfection of Wisdom mantra,
is the supreme mantra,
is the unequalled mantra,
eliminate all suffering,
It is true and not false.

Thus, the Prajnaparamita Mantra proclaims the mantra that says:
Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha

Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha

Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha

Namo Shakyamuna Buddha!

Namo Amitabha Buddha!

Congratulations on the merits of practicing the [Heart Sutra] together.
