Reading plan from
[Sutra, Tantra and Terma Dharma Source]
Today I will explain our [Sutra, Tantra and Terma Dharma Source] reading plan.
Reading is extremely important for practicing Buddhism. As Buddhists, all we should read are Buddhist books, and we should not read worldly books. Because we are wasting our time by reading these worldly books that have no benefit, and there is no way to reveal our essential wisdom through them. Many of the things written in worldly books are about greed, hatred and delusion. Looking at these contents, our hearts will sometimes become greedy and sometimes resentful. What is said in worldly books is meaningless. The Dharma that allows us to reincarnate is that originally our minds are ignorant. After reading worldly books, our ignorant minds are stained with dirt, so you shouldn't read such a book.
We need to read Dharma books, books that can liberate us, especially [Sutra, Tantra and Terma Dharma Source] teaching is to read books on the true Dharma. The Dharma books contain wonderful methods that can truly benefit us, such as the rarity of the human body, the impermanence of life span, the dangers of reincarnation, the truth of cause and effect, etc. Only these dharma books can guide us to tame our minds plus eliminate our worries, so we must take it seriously and read these helpful books.
Buddhism has four seals: all actions are impermanent, all outflows are suffering, all dharmas are empty and have no self, and Nirvana is silent. Those which meet the four seals are the true Dharma. You should observe it before reading. Only books that meet these four conditions can be read. Reading is very convenient. You can read it anytime and anywhere, and you have complete control over it. And what about listening to Dharma? You need a guru, mage, or khenpo to arrange a time and place before you can listen to this Dharma. You cannot make the decision on this, it must be arranged by the guru, mage, or khenpo personally. You are completely free to read books on your own, and you can read them whenever you have time.
Moreover, some contents in the book can only be understood through reading, and it is difficult for ordinary lecturers to express their essence. The truths written in the book are very accurate. You must read this kind of book frequently and keep it inseparable. Not only read it at home, but also take it with you when you go out. Make sure you have at least one book by your side. When you go out, wrap the book in a clean cloth, put it respectfully in your bag, and never leave it for a moment. Why do we do this? The Dharma Book is our Guru, our Dharma Master, and we should always stay with it.
I believe that as long as we do this seriously, we can do it. Doing so will plant the seeds of the origin that the Dharma will never leave us in life after life. We must always make a wish: This book is such a wonderful magic weapon and master, and I will never leave such a wonderful master, not only in this life, but also in every life. The origin of learning, listening, meditating, and practicing the Dharma through reading Dharma books is very special. If we want to live without leaving the Dharma, it is very important to practice in this way. We will look at it today and tomorrow, whenever we have time. In this way, our three good deeds will increase day by day, change every month, and improve every year. One year solid. Reading Buddhist Dharma books is so special. We must practice such good Dharma, not only ourselves, but also to influence the people around us, so that everyone can listen, think and practice together.
